Summer Elegance

It was love at first sight with Sasha & Dylan. From the second we met them we knew we were the perfect match! The planning process with this amazing couple was so fun and will never be forgotten. Their vision of fun colors, style and passion for each other was the key ingredients to this design. The pallet was filled with sunshine yellow, summer orange and small accents of crimson red. The flowers were designed around a fantastic barn in San Luis Obispo California; The Dana Powers House. Jenny McNiece used the most beautiful flowers to help bring the ambiance alive. She used mango orange calla lilies, reddish orange dahlias, yellow yarrow, orange alstromeria, red freesia, chartreuse green hypericum berries along with fresh whole lemons and oranges. The colors were so vibrant and natural; it really gave that fun summer feel.

“It was love at first sight with Sasha & Dylan, from the second I met them I knew we were the perfect match!”

As Sasha’s bridesmaids walked down the aisle in their fun yellow dresses, the aisle was draped on either side with gold dupioni silk. Every other row of chairs had a bundle of fresh flowers hanging from a shepherd’s hook and petals lined the grass. Sasha looked so radiant as she walked down the aisle with her father. Dylan immediately locked eyes with Sasha and had this look as if everyone else disappeared. The skies were blue and the birds were chirping from a far as they exchanged vows and shared their love with friends and family….they said “I Do”.

As the guests entered in to the barn; there were two wooden gates set up on either side of the barn entrance. These were the same gates that were outside of Sasha’s house growing up; this was a great way to bring in some of their own style and personality. Dylan painted the gates yellow to add a splash of color to the barn. We tied each of the place cards with ribbon and hung them off of the gates. The reception was filled with Paprika Gold linens and Buttercup yellow satin napkins draped on each table. The centerpieces had fresh slices of lemons and oranges submerged in water and were topped with flowers cascading down. Candles were scattered at each table to give some romance to the room. The pie station had a handmade sign attached to a mirror saying “How Sweet It Is…” Fresh Apple pies were displayed at different heights on small tree trunks.

It was amazing to design off of the fun elements and props around the property; tractors, vintage furniture, bird cages, wood signage, vintage mirrors and beyond. We could really go on for days, this venue has it all. Outside on the lawn was even an area for everyone to play a friendly game of croquet. That was a big hit! One of our favorite displays was above the bar; we used old paying cards strung across a vintage mirror that spelled out Sasha & Dylan. It was so clever and added a fun element! Sasha & Dylan were so happy and had a blast. The guests danced the night away to the amazing tunes from Kramer Entertainment. It was simply perfect and an unforgettable night.
