Southern Belle and her Prince Charming

Angela & Kevin’s story was straight out of the fairytale “Cinderella.” The passion between the two of them was electrifying. Just the way that Kevin looks into Angela’s eyes gives you the sense of true love!

My little “Southern Belle” from Louisiana was the sweetest bride! Her color pallet says it all, tangerine orange, brown & gold. Oranges so sweet that come from an evergreen tree with glossy leaves that bloom the most fragrant white flowers. The couple explained their vision as bright, fun and very simple. So it was time to begin the journey!

“Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through.”

- Cinderella (1950)

The day before Kevin & Angela’s wedding I met their families for some wine tasting. It was so nice to have this time to spend with the couple as well with their family. Angela is the only girl out of five brothers, so it was so cute to see how much her brothers loved her. Angela’s dad was the funniest of them all; he had the funniest names for each of the wines with his Louisiana accent. He kept the whole party laughing! I had so much fun meeting both families--I loved it. It’s not very often that I get to just sit back and hang out with my couples. You get to see a whole different angle on how the whole planning process comes together. And to think that I had a huge part in that provides such a sense of passion for what I do.

About 5:00 p.m. the guests started to arrive and they were greeted by Kevin’s fellow swordsmen. We had pre ceremony drinks for the guests as they sit and enjoy the scenery of the vineyard. The caterer had displayed lemonade and ice tea on a box filled with oranges to match the wedding. It looked so cool and refreshing—literally!

It was time to begin…Angela’s father was ready to walk her down the aisle. It was beautiful; it was so emotional watching him walk his only girl down to meet her “prince charming.” He kept whispering down the aisle, “how beautiful does she look” and, “what an amazing daughter.” Angela carried a vibrant bouquet filled with tangerine orange roses with random sprays of greens berries set with hot pink roses to outline the bouquet…make it pop. It was tied off with a ribbon of gold.

Kevin was breathless as he saw his “Southern Belle” walk down the aisle toward him. Finally, the time has come. After the whole planning process, nothing else in the world matters: “The Southern Belle and her Prince Charming” are tied together in holy matrimony for the rest of their amazing life together!

There was a beautiful sunset that night as the couple took pictures after the ceremony with their family and the bridal party. The rest of the guests enjoyed some cocktails and appetizers on the front terrace. It came time; the guests entered the “Chai” barrel room for the reception. It was decorated with elegant white linens, beautiful china sets and tangerine napkins to tie it all together. The centerpieces had vibrant orange roses wrapped in brown silk to tie in the barrels surrounding the room. The amber lighting lit up the stacked wine barrels surrounding the room that gave off that perfect ambiance, not to mention candles throughout the entire room. It was very sheik!

“The Southern Belle and her Prince” rode off into the night…

“The Southern Belle and her Prince Charming” wedding venue was the Meridian Winery located in Paso Robles, California.
