September Sessions

Amanda and Casey give off this crazy contagious passion for love and family. I learned from this couple that life is here to enjoy--the now--and not what can become or what has happened in the past. Their only request for their wedding was for all of their friends and family to enjoy every second of that entire weekend! Every bride has always thought to themselves, how can I make my wedding last forever? When Amanda and Casey told me about how they wanted to make a whole weekend out of their wedding, I simply thought, Brilliant! Let’s Escape to the Hawaiian Islands!

Let me be your weeping willow tree
Surround you with my long limbs
My dear, Let me grow in the shade
In the sands by the bank of your river
Let I drink from your streams
The cool breeze fill my leaves

Amanda and Casey wanted the rehearsal night to be just as fun as the wedding, but have a completely different feel to it. We set tiki torches around every edge of the grass and tables that had vibrant turquoise linens accented with lime green napkins and sashes around the chairs with edible centerpieces on top. Upstairs was a tiki lounge set for the guests to enjoy themselves outside after dinner. The “Tiki Bar” offered cool, refreshing Hawaiian drinks that you only find on the islands. The whole night was a hit!

Amanda and her ten bridesmaids all stayed at this unbelievable house that sat literally on top of the lake. I had set up for one of my massage therapist to come and give all the girls an hour massage. The girls loved it, there was a massage table set up on the back side of the deck so they could enjoy lake underneath them. In between the massages, the girls got their hair and makeup done by my crew of artists.

As the rest of the guests waited for the big night, they got to hang out on the beachside and experience wake boarding, water skiing, and beach volleyball. Amanda had arranged for some boats to come and take the guests out on the water and just relax. I thought it was a nice touch!

The details for the reception were amazing and elegant. Every table was filled with: succulent pink and vivid orange orchids; stunning white Calla Lillie’s; oranges were stacked high in vases; Japanese umbrellas hanging from the ceiling; lanterns strung from tree to tree; candle light everywhere; bright satin linens, modern china and glassware; and lighting coming from every direction lighting up the whole silhouette of this entire event! The colors and theme were simply stunning! For the food arrangement, we had four set food stations of different themes. The food was designed beautifully in platters that sat on light boxes filled with limes and coffee beans. Each table was uniquely designed to fit every theme that was presented.

The weekend was filled with an experience never forgotten!

The “September Sessions” wedding weekend was located in Lake Nacimiento in the County of San Luis Obispo, California.
