Laura Robertson - Founder
From the time I was ten years old, my family and I traveled throughout Europe. I was fortunate at this early age to witness the amazing ambiance of this breathtaking place. My mother and I liked to go "Castle Hunting"- taking the train and underground sub to every castle we could reach. When I walked into those astonishing buildings I always noticed the little details. This is when my passion for art and colors really started to develop. Every art piece was there for a reason. Each castle had its own unique design and beauty.
I take great pride in taking the time to get to know clients as individuals and learning their own unique style. I love making a person's passion and vision into a reality. I look at every event as a "castle," starting with the simplest details and turning them into the most breathtaking vision. Weddings and events are not just celebrations; they are special moments in time that will never be forgotten. My knowledge of the bridal and event industries equates to reliable suppliers, in-vogue design sets, value without compromising quality, and meticulous organization that allows you to truly relax and enjoy.
The greatest loves of my life are my amazing husband and gorgeous daughter. I could not do what I do without their love and support. Watching my business grow over the years has been exceptionally gratifying and has given me more inspiration than ever.
Taryn Ruiz - Business Partner
When I initially joined TOS Events, I immediately knew that working alongside Laura creating amazing events is what I have been longing to do. Over the years I have thrown parties, showers and get-togethers, but it wasn't until my own wedding in 2004 that I realized how much detail, creativity and planning go into one. From choosing the perfect invitations, to finding the "just right" color of dahlias, to looking through fabric swatches for linens; it was all so exciting! Needless to say I was hooked!
Working with every individual client is a new adventure, and it is my job to take their personalities and style and help create a celebration that they will never forget. Every person is one-of-a- kind, unique and beautiful in their own way… and so is every event. Listening and understanding your desires and vision is so important, and something that we genuinely believe in. We help guide the planning process by lending ideas, creative inspirations, and style to guarantee that your vision is brought to life. Every detail big or small is seen through to the end to ensure that the event is as magnificent as you dreamed it would be.
I am the luckiest girl alive to be doing what I love! This would not be possible if I did not have the most wonderful family supporting me and my dreams. My husband and daughter are my inspiration. Flavia once said, “ Each of us is a part of all that surrounds us and every joy we feel is a celebration of life.” Somehow inside, ever since I was a child I have always known this to be true. As a result I have developed a strong respect for the art of creating atmospheres where people could escape for a moment in time to feel the energy of someone else’s joy. I have carried that passion into my 7 year career in the special events industry. I have studied under the most experienced high-end event planners in Southern California and worked on event design with the most creative corporate and social event companies in the industry.
Inside I know that there is something magical and powerful about that experience of escape that is found in the setting of an event. I believe every event must be a shared experience of positive energy. That energy is found in that feeling you get when you step out of your work clothes and into a day spa, see a group of your college buddies for the first time in years, take that first bite of a food you will forever deem as the best thing you ever ate.
I have a gift, an ability to bring out that energy from my clients to create atmosphere that is unique to what brings them joy. I become inspired by my clients inspirations such as art, color , nature, technology, books, movies, fashion, music. The result is that your passion becomes the essence of the day.
The greatest joy in my life is my family. I love sharing stories with my 78 year old grandmother, watching Yo Gabba Gabba and singing, “Don’t Bite Your Friends” with my two little nephews and spending time with my parents and sisters. The way I spread my joy of designing and planning events is as a returning guest speaker to event planning students at 3 major universities. I have had the privilege to share my gifts at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, The University of Nevada Las Vegas and Cal Poly Pamona. I want to help you share your joy and create an atmosphere for your event that exceeds your expectations.
