Favors are a great way to give something special to your guests to remember your your big day by. They can also play double duty and add to the decor on your tables. There are so many options out there for favors, but one of our favorites are truffles by the Truffle Garden in San Luis Obispo. Not only are the absolutely delicious, but they can be wrapped up in the cutest custom boxes to match your decor.

Here is some more info and history from Patty, the founder and owner of the Truffle Garden…

I started Truffle Garden in 2001 after years of making chocolate truffles as a hobby. I had worked at a chocolate shop in college and just became obsessed with truffles, trying out new flavors and recipes at home.  Now more than 10 years later, I’m still not tired of truffles.  There’s nothing better than the intense chocolate creaminess of a fresh cream truffle. Mine are made with only four ingredients and contain no shortening or paraffin, a truly fresh, flavorful and decadent experience.  Although I have a line of Truffle Garden gift boxes, my main joy is making custom favors for weddings and events.  Not only are the truffles an elegant little gift for wedding guests, but the boxes are a perfect pop of color on the table, designed and color matched according to the couple’s wishes. And it makes me happy to have my chocolates enjoyed at such a happy occasion!

The pictures are in!! Ashley and Kyle got married back in February of this year at the beautiful Cellar 360 (formally known as Meridian Winery). Their candle lit evening ceremony was so romantic! After enjoying a pairing of amazing wine and cheese, guests were invited down the barrel room for the reception. The barrel room decor was spectacular! From the amazing lighting to the beautiful centerpieces, no detail was spared. After the bride and groom made their grand entrance from the top of the barrel room stairs, Kyle led his bride to a seat on the dance floor. As a total surprise, he had choreographed a dance to Michael Jackson’s P.Y.T. for his bride!! We do have to say…he is a really good dancer! Q. When Should we Register?

A. You can register as early as you want, however you do have to remember that items you register for may not be available for long periods of time and may be seasonal. If you are having an engagement party or an early shower, it makes it easier for guests to get you a gift off your registry. It takes the guessing out for them and you get what you actually need.

Q. What should we register for?

A. Only you know what you actually need. If you are starting fresh in a new home or moving in together after the wedding, you may need everything! Essential items to make your house a home…common items are:

• Glassware
• Flatware
• Pots and Pans
• China
• Everyday dishes
• Kitchen tools
• Small Appliances
• Towels and bedding

Although you do not have to stick to this list. It is very common to register for large appliances, electronics, furniture and gift cards. A honeymoon registry is a another popular idea. Your guests can contribute to your honeymoon fund or pruchase specific items or outings for your honeymoon. Most travel agents can set something up for you or there are websites that you can get set up on.

Q. Where should we register?

A. You can register anywhere you want! Most large stores have a registry available. Questions you want to ask the stores are:

• Can guests buy gifts online?
• What is the time frame of the registry?
• What is the return/exchange policy?

Common Stores to register at are:

Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Bed Bath & Beyond, Macy’s, etc.

Q. How should we get our registry information to our guests?

A. The best way to get this info to your guests is word of mouth. Tell your family, maid of honor, bridesmaids etc; let them spread the word. You can provide the information for your registry on your wedding website if you have one. Also, if a shower is thrown in your honor, the registry info will most likely be on the shower invite.

Have fun with this part of the planning process….there are no rules with this one!  Make a date out of this with your fiance; enjoy a yummy brunch, make a list and then hit the stores.

Trisha had been planning her dream wedding since she was a little girl. She always knew that she would be wearing Vera Wang and Christian Louboutin on her big day. So when that day came, she was dressed to the nines and looked amazing! Trisha Daza and Billy Luu, hense the phrase Dazaluu, exchanged vows at the Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa in front of family and friends. As the bells rang and the doors opened, Trisha was a glowing bride. Billy’s face was priceless. After the ceremony guests were shuttled to the beautiful Cellar 360 Winery (formally known as Meridian Winery) for an amazing night of food, wine and dancing. They even got a special treat when the bride started rapping!! So fun! Trisha and Billy’s design concept was very organic. Subtle colors were used throughout the design in shades of dusty purple, fern green, and splashes of peach. Natural elements such as white crisp flowers, tree trunks, branches and accents of succulents were also seen throughout. Bird cages filled with moss and flowers hanging from branches above, tree trunks with flowers billowing out, candles in mercury glass votives and mercury glass globes randomly placed gave the decor a whimsical feel.

Working with Trisha and Billy was so inspiring. Every time we would meet with them they were just so excited for the day to come and see her dream wedding come alive. This always reminds us why we love our job! Thank you to Trisha and Billy for letting us be a part of your fabulous wedding. We truly wish life long happiness for a couple with hearts of gold!

Emily and Kurt got married at Bianchi Winery on a warm September day. This couple is truly as beautiful and enthusiastic on the inside as they are on the out! Their day was full of friends, family, great wine and fun! The ceremony was up on the lawn by the winery and the reception was held on the grass behind the tasting room. Both had amazing views with the grape vines as the backdrop. The bride and groom had great taste, so it was pretty easy to make their day just as they envisioned. Emily and Kurt wanted to have a few extra touches to make their guest enjoy the day…not only did they have great food and drinks, but they had a custom dessert buffet to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth! When guests weren’t dancing to the amazing music they could Take photos in the photo booth or play glow in the dark Bocce Ball at the reception. This truly was such a fun wedding!!
