Mindy and Richard got married this past October at the beautiful Cellar 360 formally known as Meridian Vineyards. These two were very much in love…it was great to be a part of the planning of their big day! Finding a way to get the information about your wedding to your invited guests without printing it all over your save the dates or your invites has been a problem. Luckily there are websites where you can build a page sharing your story, pictures and information. Websites are such a great place to get information to your guests about your big day…everything from hotel and travel accommodations, fun things to do in the area, registry info and any other details that you want to share. There are a lot of free sites out there for you to choose from. Here are a few of our favorites:

Save the Date from a wedding in 2010

Congratulations to all you newly engaged couples out there!! We thought it would be helpful to give a little insight on some wedding etiquette to help with the planning process. It is not only helpful to the soon-to-be bride and groom, but to family, friends and guests that will be attending the big day! One of the first topics that we wanted to talk about is…Save the dates. Are they necessary? Who do you send them to? When do you send them out? and the questions go on. Well we are here to help…Save the dates are not required, but are very helpful especially when the wedding is a destination for the guests, located in a touristy area or on a holiday weekend. If you do choose to send out save the dates, they should go out about 6 months before the wedding; this will allow your guests to put the date on their calenders in advance and schedule time off for their travel plans if any. They should be sent to whomever you want to attend the wedding; if you are on the fence or don’t know if you have room in the guest count yet for a certain individual… wouldn’t send them one…once you send it out, you can’t take it back! The envelope for the Save the Date should be addressed to the people invited and it doesn’t have to be as formal as you would address the wedding invitation. For example, if you are inviting a whole family, it should be addressed to “The Adams Family”, If it is just to John and Nancy Adams, it should be addressed that accordingly. If you are allowing an individual to bring a guest. It should be addressed “John Adams and Guest”, if you know the guest’s name, it should be addressed with their full name. This will make it very clear as to who is invited and will allow them to plan ahead. There are some key items that should be included on the save the dates:

What it is: A Save the Date
Who it is for
Where the wedding and reception will be held
The Date
Hotel/Travel info (this can be included on the below site if you have one)
A link to your wedding site if you have one

Save the Dates do not need to be extravagant, you can do them yourself or have them professionally designed. They do not have to match the wedding decor…so have fun with it! Here are a few of our favorites for inspiration…Check them out and enjoy!

Julie and Teddy

Julie and Teddy were probably the most easy going couple ever! The planning process with them was so enjoyable and fun, even though we didn’t get to meet them in person until the day before their wedding. This was a full destination wedding from Minnesota. We had great phone conversations and emails during the process and we loved them from the start! Julie sent pictures and ideas that she loved, from there we turned her vision into the wedding of their dreams. She has great style, so that made it easy creating the prefect design for her. Julie and Ted exchanged their vows in June at Opolo Winery in Paso Robles, CA. With the wedding being in June, you would think we would have the perfect California wedding… so we thought! The night before the wedding it poured (no exaggeration), the wedding was going to take place in the middle of the vineyard in a tent. For this location, there really is no plan B, so you have to work with what you have. The rain made the day a little difficult to set up, but we pulled out our rain boots and umbrellas and had fun with it. The day turned out to be perfect despite the rain, but it actually made the photos even more amazing!!! Everyone had such a great time and OH MY GOSH, Julie looked absolutely fabulous! They are such a beautiful couple, inside and out!!

Experts-Exchange Holiday Party 2011

We have done the Holiday Party for Experts-Exchange for the last 3 years and we definitely look forward to it! They like to mix it up so every year the party is held at a different venue and they come up with a theme or idea of what type of decor they want, this year’s was an elegant southern inspired theme held at the beautiful Paso Robles Inn Ballroom. The color palette was a monochromatic scheme; it consisted of ivory, white, muted gold and silver. We also used accents of burgundy, rope and ribbon to add texture and a little pop of color. The company’s logo is a “X” so we incorporate it into the design as much as possible, with the “x” shapes on the desserts, the ice sculpture, the gobo, the place cards/menus and the amazing Floral cover “x” displayed on the bar. We have so much fun and put so much heart and soul into the design it was great that we were able to get photos this year! Check out the amazing pics taken by HM Photography…

Mr. and Mrs. Bermont

The first time we met with Linda and Pete, we knew this was going to be such a great experience. They are two of the most genuine people and you can tell that they are not only great friends and have so much fun together but are very much in love. They have such an amazing story…we usually don’t pull things from wedding sites, but the story was best said in their own words. Here is their story from their wedding site…”We met each other back in 1993 working together at EMI Music where we became great friends. Over the years we went to concerts, baseball games and lots of other fun outings. Then one night in December 2007 (after a Van Halen concert) everything changed and our friendship turned into something new and different! We began dating and the friendship blossomed into love. Now 3 years later we are engaged and planning the biggest day of our lives. Long story short….sometimes the one you were meant to be with is right in front of you!” Pete and Linda got married on Labor Day weekend at the beautiful Robert Hall Winery in Paso Robles CA. The bride and groom live in LA and so do most of their guests; so they planned a funfilled weekend for all of their loved ones that made the trip up the coast for their big day. Their wedding was filled with great friends, great family, great food, great wine and great music! It was all pulled together by the best vendors…Kramer Entertainment rocked it with the music and lighting, Trumpet Vine Catering provided the food and presentation, Panacea Event Floral Design with the amzaing flowers, The Cakery created the amazing cake, Robert Hall Winery for the venue and delicious wine and Steve Reisch Photography out of Los Angeles captured the day beautifully.
